CYM.14 (2025-11)

This release consists of feature enhancements and hotfixes for bugs and issues reported by our clients over October and November 2025.

Please see the details in the Enhancements and Bug Fixes sections below.

Enhancements

  1. A major refactor was completed to modernize how author affiliations are stored and managed in JAMS. The database schema was redesigned to make affiliations article-agnostic, and all related application logic  was updated accordingly. This is a key pre-requisite paving the way for the integration to ROR (planned in 2026).

New author affiliation structure in the article metadata

  1. JAMS now tracks all production rounds of typesetting, English editing, proofreading and file conversion for manuscripts. This provides clearer records and helps ensure every stage of the production process is properly documented.

  2. The JAMS Editorial Guidance portal is now live and plugged into JAMS via a new nifty search bar. Superusers can enable it in the application features

Upon switching it on, a new search bar visible only to the Editorial Office team and dedicated to the Editorial Guidance will show up in JAMS. Editors can look up the documentation we are curating that contains best practices and answers to common editorial questions.
