This release consists of feature enhancements and hotfixes for bugs and issues reported by our clients over August and September 2025.

Enhancements

JAMS now supports the integration to both the 1.0 and 2.0 versions of the iThenticate-powered similarity check. This is a key improvement as more and more academic publishers (especially the ones who subscribed to the service only recently) are placed on the version 2.0 and until now JAMS was not supporting it.

To know which versions you are on, please check out this Crossref article. Please note that a subscription to the Crossref Similarity Check service is a pre-requisite for using any of the two versions. Find more information about how to set the integration up on our updated KB article.

Bug Fixes

• In the Article Publication Metadata, the abstract field is now mandatory and the author email field is system-validated to force the email address format.

• A bug on the Hide Cancelled Reviewers option has been fixed.

• An issue preventing the system from correctly counting the number of characters of the abstract in the submission process has been resolved.

• Incorrect system behavior scanning incomplete submissions for duplicate manuscript title has been modified.
